A Monogram for Breianna
Breianna and Keith are getting married in Cancun. The Bride is looking for a couple of monograms with different "feels" to them. She and Keith are incorporating stargazer lilies with rose and sage but first lets see if she likes the schematic of this one. Hope you like Breianna!

The Mike and Juliet Show
I had the opportunity to be on The Mike and Juliet Show today. It was a show about broken engagements and turning it into something positive. Yes, that would mean that I was a jilted bride in the midst of my destination wedding. My positive? focusing on my artistic crafts, pursuing my dream of owning my own business, using that force to help the community.
Rachel Safier had given me the heads up via her online community. She was to join us, but the producer let me know she had the stomach flu...I was disappointed we didn't meet in person as we had exchanged a couple of emails in the past.
Liz Weaver and Susannah Jabbour at the show were gracious. I liked how I wasn't treated as though I walked into a "talk show factory". It also helped that I got hair and makeup done YAY! As you can see I got a full face done. I felt like Mrs. Piggy or Janice from the Muppets! There was heavy saturation with eyeshadow, lipstick and blush = TV Makeup... I am sure the studio lights washed it out a bit : )
One of things they asked me to bring with me was the wedding invitation. I did even better I brought the save the date with me as well.
I was quite impressed with how hospitable everyone was. During pre-show conversations with Liz and Susannah, I really wanted to get a feel of the motive. I definetly didn't want to bash the former biker-guy. All the best to him with what he's doing. I am so satisfied right now that if I were to be upset it would be like taking two steps back.
At any rate, the producers told me I would be on the couch with Franz Wisner. Franz is a jilted groom who decided to go on his honeymoon and ended up traveling the world. His book is fittingly named Honeymoon with my Brother. We shared a joke here and there but really, who could dump this guy, furry friend and all?
His first few words to me, "How can anyone leave you at the altar?". How flattering! : ) It just goes to show that people of all walks of life can have these devastating events happen to them. It shows no discrimination. Franz autographed a copy of his book for me as well...I was hoping to meet Kurt, his brother. But I guess there's always next time.

If anyone has seen the show leave me a comment...i haven't seen it yet! i know the last question Mike asked me was very unexpected...it was about my love life : P that look must have been priceless!

Mark Eric on ABC
I am having a strong urge to get back into my photography. I studied under Janine Coyne in College. Something is saying "get back out there". When I first started the blog I linked a photographer who's work I came across while looking for a boudoir photographer for a bride. I then stumbled across his "Trash the Dress" blog. Which inspired the post for the "my knottie friend..." blog entry.
Well Mark Eric/Trash the Dress was featured on ABC's Saturday Morning Show!!
Here is a link to the broadcast CLICK. Here's a link to the photos on the ABC website CLICK.
These are a couple of teasers from his site. Keep in mind that not all of the images are his, Mark has Photographers all over that send him from their own "TTD" sessions with brides. These from Dawn Earles Photography are gorgeous and have a most chilling essence to them.

Hillary part II

Today I put the finishing touches on Hillary's wedding invitations. She had seen an invitation made by Kate Spade. But that style was discontinued at the time she came across the picture with the brown backing. I worked at recreating the flowers and once that was done we were all set. Now... I put a little something extra together for the rsvp cards. Miss Hillary is a no fuss bride. She just wanted wildflowers. So whatever I made for the rsvp's had to be clean cut because really, this is a surprise! When I publish this blog, she will see them before the proofs are sent out. Hillary I hope you like! Really, the pictures do not do them justice. Michelle Stacey

Hillary

In December, Hillary found me on a classifieds website. She wanted a specific invitation that she had found, but it was discontinued by the stationer (the picture with the brown backing on the left). When Hillary contacted me, I was thrilled. I felt like this would be a challenge. What artist doesn't welcome a challenge? It took me under a day to complete but I tried as best to create the cascade of wildflowers for her. When I emailed her the slide show, she absolutely loved it. Hillary lives in California with her husband-to-be and family. This is the farthest distance I have ever worked with a client. So it was taken into huge consideration. Let me explain... Whether bride or not, when you desire a service, you want to feel comfortable enough to trust the artist to interpret the feel of your event. Hillary wanted to start off with the "Save the Dates" to announce her wedding date to those who will be invited. Once she received the finished product, she commissioned me to create the matching invitations! more to come...
